Ms. Senecal proved to be a driving force in the company within the short years she was on board as the CEO, leaving CP&B executives scrambling to find a replacement on par with Lori’s talent and level of professionalism.
In 2015, Ad Age reports that Lori Senecal joined CP&B as the company’s first global CEO, it was with a plan already in place for her inevitable departure. It was never Lori’s intention to remain in control of CP&B on an indefinite basis, so Mr. Porter worked with Senecal to devise a plan for her departure, when that time came. For her part, Lori Senecal says she can enter retirement satisfied with the unexpected turns her career has taken. Getting into the advertising business early in Canada, Ms. Senecal never expected to end up shaping the future of advertising in the United States, but that’s just where her life has taken her.
According to LinkedIn, Lori launched her career with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, where Ms. Senecal majored in marketing and finance. From there, she proved her talent for creativity and business by helping to found TAG Ideation in 2003 and later took on the role of Global Chief Innovation Officer for McCann Worldgroup in February of 2006.
That position ultimately lead Ms. Senecal to her first position as president of a company, leading McCann Erickson for over two years.
Following her time with McCann, Lori Senecal moved into a new position with KBS, (Kirshenbaum, Bond, Senecal, and partners) as the corporation’s CEO and president. Ms. Senecal remained an active part of that company’s leadership, until she teamed up with CP&B in 2015.
