The Academy of Art University had its first showcase

The School of Fashion at the Academy of Art University had its first runway showcase. This was held on September 9th, 2017 Skylight Clarkson Square. Five womenswear and two menswear collections were debuted by then recent Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts graduates.


An array of fashion and design was shown by the designers, impressing everyone that attended. Career mentors were in attendance including the Director of Education and Professional Development at CFDA, Sara Kozlowski and America’s Next Top Model host Ms. J Alexander. The designers that showcased their collections names are Jelly Shan, MFA, Ryan Yu, MFA, Cana Klebanoff, BFA, Joanna Jadallah, MFA, Saya Shen, MFA, Carlos Rodriguez, BFA, Dina Marie Lam, MFA, Eden Slezin, MFA, and Hailun Zhou, MFA. These amazingly creative designers come from all over the world, from the United States, to China, to Mexico, and beyond. Coming from all kinds of backgrounds the graduates were inspired by many different cultures and ways of life. Some of the designers used many different materials to create contrast, while others pulled images from nature to create their works of art. All of the pieces were outstandingly beautiful and creative. They worked many painstaking hours to get ready for this showcase and it was surely worth it.


The Academy of Art University was founded in 1929. It is based in San Francisco and is a privately owned art school. The school was established by Richard S. Stephens who is Sunset Magazine’s creative director. He believes that artist deserve to study at an art institution regardless of their whether they have a portfolio or not. They also should be educated by professional artists.


This art based school turns up and coming students into professional designers and artists. The Academy of Art University enrolls about 12,600 each year, the United State’s largest privately owned art and design school.


Graduates have been hired by well known companies such as Pixar, Nike, Zynga, EA, and Apple. Students can pick from a number of majors including graphic design, game design, fine art, illustration, and much more. Some of the Academy of Art University’s famous alumni include Raven-Symoné, Lauren Conrad, and Heidi Montag.

CP&B Loses Advertising Genius Lori Senecal

While Lori Senecal’s departure doesn’t come as a shock to CP&B Chairman Chuck Porter, it still feels like a massive blow to the company. Ms. Senecal proved to be a driving force in the company within the short years she was on board as the CEO, leaving CP&B executives scrambling to find a replacement on par with Lori’s talent and level of professionalism.

In 2015, Ad Age reports that Lori Senecal joined CP&B as the company’s first global CEO, it was with a plan already in place for her inevitable departure. It was never Lori’s intention to remain in control of CP&B on an indefinite basis, so Mr. Porter worked with Senecal to devise a plan for her departure, when that time came. For her part, Lori Senecal says she can enter retirement satisfied with the unexpected turns her career has taken. Getting into the advertising business early in Canada, Ms. Senecal never expected to end up shaping the future of advertising in the United States, but that’s just where her life has taken her.

According to LinkedIn, Lori launched her career with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, where Ms. Senecal majored in marketing and finance. From there, she proved her talent for creativity and business by helping to found TAG Ideation in 2003 and later took on the role of Global Chief Innovation Officer for McCann Worldgroup in February of 2006.

That position ultimately lead Ms. Senecal to her first position as president of a company, leading McCann Erickson for over two years.

Following her time with McCann, Lori Senecal moved into a new position with KBS, (Kirshenbaum, Bond, Senecal, and partners) as the corporation’s CEO and president. Ms. Senecal remained an active part of that company’s leadership, until she teamed up with CP&B in 2015.

Jose Borghi is one of the most influential advertisers in the Brazil’s advertising scene. He is the man who created few of the most famous Ads remembered till date in the country, including the ad campaign Mammals of Parmalat, focused towards wildlife conservation.  The Ad was moving and compelling and is remains as one of the best Ads ever made in the country.

Jose Borghi currently serves as the Co-Chief Operating Officer at the internationally acclaimed Mullen Lowe Brazil. Jose Borgi has been interested in the advertising world from the very early age. His interest in advertising began when he went to Cannes Film Festival along with his sister to watch the Ads that has won the Lion Awards. The advertisements he saw imbibed in him the love and fascination for the Ad films and decided that he would grow up to be a professional advertiser, which he is today.
